Bike description

Bike description
“ Don’t go too far Jackson” said my mum. I kept on biking. I was going really fast, speeding around corners (not knowing that it was unsafe at the time). I felt free before looking behind me. I couldn't see my mum anymore. I got worried. I turned a corner... my bike skidded across the flat stones and I fell onto someone's fence. My mum finally came around the corner after I had called her name several times. She asked if I was ok. I said  that I was fine.

One of the most important days of my life was when I learned how to ride a bike. To many people, a bicycle is the key to their greatest dreams.

Bean Sample

Bean sample 10/11/16
Our hypothesis was that the bean covered with dirt would die because it had no oxygen.

17-10-16
Bean 1  1cm long 2mm wide
Bean 2  2cm 3mm long 1cm wide

Now
Bean 1  10cm tall
Bean 2 DEAD

Bean 2 had weeds growing.

I threw out bean 2 because it had died.

Based on our results, we can conclude that our hypothesis was incorrect. We now know that beans don't need oxygen to survive and that seeds grow better underground because the soil provides all the nutrients that are needed.

Top picture is bean 1 covered

Bottom picture is bean 2 uncovered

Speech

Have you ever hurt yourself badly? I have but, I have never broken a bone. My claim is that places should be safer for children. Once when I was in Hanmer I saw what looked like a small wall but once I was on it it felt like a one way death trap that had only one way down which was that I had to jump down. I slipped off the top quickly and fell off the wall it felt like a split-second before hitting the ground. I felt no pain. I thought I was in a magical land, but then all of a sudden the pain kicked in. It felt horrible I looked over at my mum she looked worried, my sister started crying and then my auntie called the ambulance. While I was on the ground a woman walked past and she was on her day off but she was a doctor who helped me.

Have you are ever seen someone drowning at a pool or at the beach you should know that drowning can be silent because they can't yell or splash their body around. their Should be at least one or two lifeguards. at a pool or beach. If you ever see someone drowning you should quickly get an adult or lifeguard for help to save the person’s life. Once my friend Ollie was at a waterpark and their was one of those wave things and this kid tried to swim to the top but the waves kept on pushing him under and then the lifeguard had to swim out and help the kid to safety.

Another dangerous thing is kids could die at a mall on a escalator because they could slip on it when going up or coming down or they could climb up the side and then fall to their death.

Kids could even die from all sorts of things, for examples the Kinda Surprise’s, I actually thought that a Kinda Surprise’s would be harmless but apparently not, because kids could eat some of the plastic in the middle and chook on it. And that isn't a nice surprise. In conclusion adults should always keep an eye on their kids.

Proud

The cross country run
I felt proud when I…

It wasn't a very pleasant day at st James park.
It was spitting with rain I was in the year 5 2km run. We had to warm up for the race.
We went to the line all warmed up and ready to go we got a countdown 3 2 1 GO I started to run and I got into 8th or 9th before falling back behind into 11th I looked back I saw Sean right behind me gaining ground on me I kept on running and got into 10th but Sean got into 9th witch made me 11th. I saw Hamish in 1st but it was pretty obvious that he would win I looked back again
and saw some other kids behind me I went the finish line I felt accomplished but then realised that I had only finish the first lap and not the second lap I kept on running when I was 3 quarters through the second lap when Liam passed me.
I started to catch up to him but then we got to the finish line and then found out that I got 12th witch I think was a major improvement from last year when I got 21th.
Overall I felt accomplished.
