Science blog backyard plan and week 9/10 reflection

Science blog plan 3 july backyard
Trampoline steps
Step 1 cut up some of the Popsicle sticks.
Step 2 stand up the cut pieces in a rectangle and lay the big Popsicle stick on top of the others for the base and hot glue them together.
Step 3 lay some black ribbon on top of the popsicle sticks we then another 2 popsicle sticks we cut one in half and cut the other into thirds and cut the curved ends off. We then laid the half’s on the table then hot glue gunned the thirds onto the halfs. We then cut up some net and glued it on this is what it should look like finished. What we needed Popsicle sticks and black ribbon.

Slide steps
Step 1 cut the skewer in half.
Step 2 cut up two popsicle sticks in half so that there is four pieces of popsicle a.k.a four half’s.
Step 3 glue the skewers to the four pieces so that it looks like a ladder.
Step 4 cut up an eighth of the paper and glue it to the slide this is what it should look like.
What we needed Popsicle sticks, coloured paper and a skewer.

Science blog week 9/10 reflection
For the last 2 weeks of the term we have been making playgrounds, balloon powered vehicle and a board game but the twist was that all had to involve force most people made playgrounds but Oliver and I are making a backyard.
What worked well was working with others.
Our struggles were messing around with Leon.
Improvements for us would be having a better pool.

Science blog week 7 14/6/17
This week for science we could make a mini golf course or a pulley system I did the mini golf course. It was fun the people I did with were Sam, Sean , Ollie and I. It was really hard to make but then we went and got some materials that we thought would help. Ollie and I grabbed two leaning boards each for some ramps we then had an idea of putting the two leaner boards opposite each other and then bounce the ball really hard so that the ball would bounce back and forth but it would bounce twice and then go flying out so we put the hole on the outside to try and get the ball into the hole but it never worked.

Science blog week 8 22/6/17
This week for science we continued on doing our catapults and I finished collecting my data for my one cotton ball but I still need to complete data collecting for my three cotton balls.

What is force? Force is what everyone has and does. The main forces are push and pull even gravity uses a force which is pull. Here's an example, the mob of people used all of their force to pull the container open. Another one is the mob of people push the tram so that the man could get his leg free.
Gravity is one of the strongest forces that we know of its main purpose is to keep us on the ground.
What I changed: I changed on my catapult was that  I took it off the stand so that I could have a higher angle because it was on 10 degree angle but now I can fire it on a 45 degree angle. We also changed the weight of the cotton ball with rubber bands.

I wonder if gravity will ever collapse on us one day and we will all be stuck floating.

You can't see or feel force but it's all around you it's like gravity because gravity is always around you. Even the moon has gravity but the moon's gravity is weaker than ours so you could probably jump up about five meters on the moon but only about 50cms on earth so on the moon you could probably jump ten times higher than on earth.

Science blog week 6 8.6.17

Science blog week 6 8.6.17
What I've done:
I got to choose between 3 different activities that were ping pong ramps, chair pulley and basketball bounces I did basketball bounces. The people who did it were Sean, Heilee, Ruby, Larissa, Hamish, Ethan and I we played four square with two different balls a flat ball and a new fully pumped ball.. The new ball did better because when you used the old ball it would bounce about 5 times before just rolling away but the new ball when Sean jumped and slammed the ball down to the ground it would go like 5 meters high but the other ball would only go up like a meter. So we used the new ball for the game I think it went well and the game just started out Hamish,Sean, larrisa and I but then Ruby and Heilee join and then later on Ethan joined.
What I found out:
I found out that the more air in the ball the better because the ball will bounce higher so that when you play the ball doesn't just hit the ground and then role away.
What I wonder:
I wonder if  the ball will still bounce if you fill it with helium..
I wonder if the ball would bounce if you fill it with water.

High Ropes

High Ropes Wainui Camp
I was really excited when I saw the high ropes course but then I realised that I was scared of heights a cold shiver went through my body. I look up at the 25 meter high ropes course.
From far away I was looking at the high ropes course like this will be easy. My friends all look up at the course and asked each other if they were scared.

Whenever someone asked me If i was scared I would say yes but try not to show it and to  try to stay calm but I was very frightened before our leader led us all over to the harnesses and helmet then gave us the size he thought we should have. We had 3 groups of 4 my group was Hamish,Ruby,Gabby and I.

Hamish was the first person to climb up he got up to the top and I was the cheerleader Ruby climbed second and I was the backup belayer . A belayer is the person that’s strapped onto the rope. They pull the rope when the person is on the rope they pull the rope so that the rope wont be bendy instead of straight and the backup belayer gets all the rope from the previous person and then they pull back that rope and it all ends up in a big pile and then when they come down both of the bee layer release some rope so that the climber has space to climb down.

Next it was my turn to climb up but I got very scared and I only made it up to the second staple before deciding to come down but then I did the Giants ladder which I only got up to the second step.

I was really relieved when I was back on ground because I wasn't scared anymore.

I am made of black leather I am brand new and couldn't be happier with who brought me.
My owner always puts me on his coat hanger softly so that I don't get damaged and ripped or worn out. He only wears me inside or on sunny days. I am worn by Lionel Messi the  world’s best soccer player (well at least that's what I think) unlike all the other Ronaldo/Real Madrid fans. I walk past people normally  and get swarmed by lots of Barcelona fans. It feels so nice to have lots of people interested in me because normally there is always 2 or 3 asking how much I cost and where he got me from. He usually says from avacarto corner shop and that I cost about $10,750 dollars I also can glow in the dark.

What am I.
